Obtaining a Campus ID

Students - You must be registered for classes. In most cases, the ID office will have this confirmation. However, if you have just been accepted and registered for classes as a new student, you may need to show proof of your registration. A class schedule from the registrar is acceptable proof of registration.

Staff and Faculty - ID cards for staff and faculty may also be obtained from the ID Office. In order to obtain a new ID card, staff and faculty will need to bring documentation from the Office of Human Resources verifying employment at KSC. If you are unable to come during the posted office hours, you may call the office to arrange an appointment.

ID Cards

On the front of the ID card is the name of the holder, the Datatel ID number and a barcode. Staff and faculty cards show only the general category of Faculty/Staff. On the back of the ID card are two magnetic strips. The smaller strip is the vending strip; the larger strip is the debit strip.

Barcode

This is used exclusively to obtain materials from the Library.

Vending Strip
Cash value is added to this strip at one of the 12 Cash-to-Card machines on campus:
  • Keddy Hall
  • Bushnell Laundry Room
  • Carle Hall Lobby
  • One Butler Court
  • Fiske Hall Vending Area
  • Holloway Hall Vending Area
  • Carroll House
  • Huntress Hall Lobby
  • Laundry House - 61 Bruder
  • Monadnock Hall Lobby
  • Pondside Vending Area
  • Randall Hall Lobby
  • Pondside II A & D
  • Pondside III

This strip is used to make purchases from Vending machines—snack and beverage machines are located in all large residence halls and most buildings on campus— and Laundry machines—washers and dryers are located in most residence halls.

Debit Strip
This strip is used for students on the meal plan to record the number of meals eaten. It is also used for individuals who select a FLEX plan to keep track of the amount of FLEX Dollars used. This strip is also used to record the amount of Keene Kash individuals have on their card.
